After a 12-win season and capturing the Mid-American Conference championship in 2009, the Central Michigan Chippewas would love to replicate that success in 2010.

Central Michigan landed in second place in the MAC West Division preseason poll, compiled by members of the media as part of the conference’s media day on Friday.

CMU earned three first-place votes in finishing second behind Northern Illinois. Temple finished first in the East Division.

The Chippewas open the 2010 season on Sept. 2 at home against Hampton. That’s followed by three consecutive road games, starting at Temple on Sept. 11.

Other difficult road games for CMU include a trip to ACC foe Virginia Tech on Oct. 9, and a visit to Navy on Nov. 13.
